Leeds 0 Essex Blaze 3
(21-25, 23-25, 26-28)
Leeds faced their 1st defeat of the season to a well organised Essex Blaze. Leeds started cautiously playing well within their potential. Essex took the early advantage and maintained their outside attack pressure keeping Leeds at bay. Unforced errors cost Leeds the set. Leeds continued to play without establishing any attack or block rhythm. As the errors started creeping in, Coach Speers introduced Vigre to replace Rutikanga. The substitution settled the team and brought Leeds back to 22-22. Inconsistent reception stopped Leeds from making quick attacks in middle and allowed Essex to form good blocks on the wings. Leeds dropped the momentum and the set to 23. Leeds started to show their potential in the 3rd set taking the lead in both technical time outs. Attack errors at critical points allowed Essex back into the set and Leeds lost their advantage. The final points saw both teams attacking well but Essex took the set 28-26.

Leeds 3 Northumbria & Middlesborough Academy 1
(24-26, 25-15, 25-20, 25-17)
Leeds were looking to turn their Cup loss into a league victory against Northumbria's 2nd team. However they started badly and found themselves 2-8 down at 1st technical T.O. Basha stepped up to the challenge serving Leeds back into the set 9-9. Northumbria kept their shape fighting point for point, but it was Leeds who took their chances taking a 23-22 lead. Two late errors in the Leeds attack gave Northumbria the 1st set.
Coach Speers switched his players into their regular starting positions and the team responded. Herczeg finally getting his range attacking the Northumbria cross court defence. Supported by Rutikanga & Basha Leeds took the next 3 sets with relative ease.
